Save the Whales!
–Photoshop saves an image past saving
I photographed this humpback whale mother and calf while snorkeling in the Silver Banks in the winter of 2002.
The water was very cloudy, so even then I didn't have high hopes for the image. And while returning to the States, the film was damaged by airport x-rays. The images were all but destroyed. But this one showed such a classic pose that I decided to accept the challenge.*
*It's amazing what you can do with the right tools and a little patience.
