EnViSci Network is an online environmental science curriculum developed at TERC by Judy Vesel.
Each unit features an iconic image related to the specific subject, such as water pollution, weather, or soil use.
What I did:
- Conceptualized each image and creating brief descriptions of the scenarios and/or lists of the objects to be portrayed.
- Researched photos for templates for objects within the drawings
- Created all 12 original drawings from scratch, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop*. (I also used trueSpace 3D to create the water faucet in the ”tap water” drawing.)
* These illustrations were published as halftones in the student workbooks. Good grayscale conversion of vector artwork can be quite difficult; I drew on my experience in high-end pre-press to help with the handful of drawings that proved most troublesome.
